The Blog Factor - time to celebrate!

We asked you to send in your achievements as part of our December Blog Factor celebrations! Thank you to Amy Bright who shared her story of her sight loss and the positive milestones she has accomplished. There is so much to be proud of and Amy is a fantastic role model to other students going through similar experiences.

I am Amy Bright, aged 16 year old and have a severe sight impairment.

I lost my vision three years ago due to a rare optic nerve condition. I lost my vision rapidly. On the 28 November 2020 I was doing my eye makeup in the mirror and I couldn’t see out of my right eye. When I found out what it was after staying in the hospital they said to expect the other eye two follow within three months.

I have an Instagram page @help.vision_

I sang twice at my school on stage solo with 100 people at both a summer concert and a Christmas concert

I have also been on the front of the page with the chronicle when I passed my GCSE’s a couple of months ago.

I have also done horse riding…

I am now doing my A-levels, I am doing double health and social care level three and psychology. I want to be a psychologist and help individuals with sight loss.
